The Towanda Area Pilots Association held a regular meeting on February
21, 2008, at the Airport Office, RR#2 Box 69A, Towanda, PA 18848.

Minutes: The minutes of December 20, 2007 were
approved by Heather Blokzyl and second by Mark Watkins, vote unanimous.
Treasurers
Report: A motion was made to accept the Treasurers
Report with a balance of $4,029.72 by Neil Wilson and second
by Heather Blokzyl, vote unanimous.
Old Business:
Outreach
Program: Members will
continue to attend the Career Days when they are available.
Fly
Outs: A fly-out to Cherry
Ridge for lunch was made by three aircraft. A fly-out to Fayetteville, NC
was made by one aircraft. More to come as weather permits.
Fun
Fly:
This is on hold until the
spring.
Lifetime
Members: Blanche is working
on an expandable plaque.
Chair
& Table Rack: on hold .
ANCHORS: Carl
and Sean are working on this item, look for a TAPA work party to install these along
apron in the near future.
New
Officers: The 2008 Officers
are as follows:
President: Chad Wilcox--a motion to appoint as President may by
Heather Blokzyl, second by Neil Wilson , vote unanimous.
Vice President: Carl Lafy --appointed at December meeting.
Treasurer: Mark Watkins--appointed at December meeting.
Secretary: Craig Chaffee--motion to appoint as secretary made by Heather Blokzyl,
second by Neil Wilson, vote unanimous.
REFRIGERATOR: It
was reported that the refrigerator is relatively clean with no new “science
fair” projects growing. Will be
checked/cleaned at the first meeting after each breakfast .
NEW BUSINESS:
MEMBERSHIP DRIVE: Jerry and Heather are heading up a membership drive.
There may be a community appreciation lunch, possibly the same time as a
fun-fly day this Spring. Any ideas or assistance are appreciated.
We want to attract non-pilots as well as pilots.
MISCELLLANEOUS BUSINESS:
TAX EXEMPT STATUS: Neil will check with Blanche to see if we need to do
anything to maintain tax-exempt status, such as maintain a maximum account
balance.

Meeting: The next meeting
is on March 20, 2008 at 7PM at the Airport Office. It is asked that everyone who comes to this
meeting please bring a friend/potential member and a dish-to-pass.
